Since 2001, we’ve provided thousands of rides to Crow Wing County residents to run errands and get to their appointments. We’ve built hundreds of ramps and made countless home modifications, which allows folks to remain in their homes, saving them costly nursing home placements and senior care services.
Our Mission
A faith-based community…
Interfaith Volunteers was founded in 2001 by local clergy, social workers, medical practitioners, law enforcement agencies and many caring residents in Crow Wing County who shared a common concern:
The needs of low-income seniors
in our community were unmet,
placing them at risk.
We’re a 501(c)(3) organization, with a mission of helping low-income seniors and persons with disabilities live comfortable, safe, independent lives in their own home. Although we make no distinction on who we serve, our organization’s two missions are in line with supporting the Christian tenet of doing good to others.

Our 250-plus volunteers help Brainerd Lakes Area senior citizens continue to live in their homes by building wheelchair ramps, installing minor home modifications and providing rides for medical appointments and errands as well as making personal companionship visits. Our funding comes from grants, corporate donations, and personal contributions. Our services are provided on a donation basis to the folks we serve.

Hello Clients!
We primarily provide accessibility ramps and rides to medical appointments.
However, we can respond promptly to most needs calling for carpentry, simple maintenance, clean-ups, home repairs or minor modifications to structures and equipment in non-emergency situations.

On the more personal side, we can check on the health,
safety and comfort of lonely or isolated folks by paying
them a visit or checking on them by phone.
We can make sure there is food in the refrigerator,
and that they are safe and comfortable.
If we discover any imminent risk or serious threat to their
well being, we can and will seek an appropriate remedy.
Our Services Include
Ramps
Constructing wheelchair ramps,
low-rise steps, railings, grab bars,
or other handicapped access.
Rides
Rides to medical appointments, shopping and errands (3 days advance notice preferred).
Visits
Home visits, either in person or by phone, as needed. Provide care and companionship to poor, disabled or isolated elderly throughout the Brainerd Lakes Area.
We require no complicated applications or procedures.
No red tape. No strings. We simply get it done.
We do not charge for our services although donations are gratefully accepted.
