Did you know…
I thought I’d bring you up to date on how Interfaith Volunteers havevsaved tax dollars for Crow Wing County residents each year.
Annually, our 350 volunteers log more than 3,000 hours. With a volunteer time estimated at nearly $25, that equates to approximately $75,000 in taxpayer savings.
According to the Minnesota Department of Human Services, the average annual nursing home placement is $90,000. In-home care is estimated at $60,000 annually and $48,000 is attributed for costs to cover an assisted living facility residency per year. A conservative estimate brings an annual savings for the county to $900,000.
And here are some impressive numbers that reflect the incredible work our volunteers do for county residents. Approximately 40 ramps and home modification projects per year.
Approximately 1,000 rides per year. Estimated materials cost per ramp is $1,200. Labor value is about $1,100 (32 volunteer hours x $33/hour). 1,500 served per year (including direct service to clients and indirect service to family members and caregivers). 75,000 miles driven per year. 3-4 hours per ride.
