Founded in 2001, Interfaith Volunteers is a 501(c)(3) organization that helps seniors and persons with disabilities live comfortable, safe, independent lives in their own home. Interfaith Volunteers fulfills this mission in a variety of ways but primarily by deploying volunteers to assist senior citizens with building wheelchair ramps and minor home modifications, providing rides for medical appointments and errands, and making companionship visits.
In 2018 we changed our name from Lakes Area Interfaith Caregivers to Interfaith Volunteers. However, our mission and services remain the same. We are still based in Baxter and serve residents throughout Crow Wing County.
Our mission:
To help low-income seniors and persons with disabilities continue to live comfortable, safe, independent lives in their own home.
Our guiding principle:
“As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.” – 1 Peter 4:10.
Our purpose is to encourage involvement by the local faith community through direct participation in implementing solutions to the challenges facing our senior community, particularly those of the poor and disabled. Services performed will be rendered so as to facilitate the safety, independence and comfort of the recipient to the greatest possible extent.
